Aiko compounds are suited to treat opioid induced bowel dysfunction, addiction and overdose. These compounds are the only known candidates ideally suited to both limit side effects associated with opioid use, particularly constipation, and be co-formulated with an opioid analgesic to also confer abuse resistance.
